SHE IS SPEAKING
After all our shameful waste
and distorted planetary distaste
did we think she’d just sleep
and oh so silently weep
with pollution in her hair
and failure to treat her fair;
we’ve abused her offspring
killing livestock akin to a tyrant king
and destroyed her arts
with our decapitated hearts.
Why humanity,
we called this calamity;
she nurtures our every creation
and we dismiss her relation
but our veins know of her reigns
so now she’s risen
to free us all from this prison
of inequality and frivolity,
while on our stage they fight the craze
but it will pass as we fly half mast
to her impearled new world
that’s already unfurled.
