KING OF THE SONORAN DESERT

They say he finds you, when it is time,

when you’re ready to go beyond the mind.

I was so surprised at the setting;

found in a charity board interview fretting.

Circumstances knew my true feeling

for a destined journey of love and healing.

The King of the Desert, I didn’t escape

his quick and explicit removal of my cape.

His crystallized venom is most intense

and gently took me past all my pretense.

Finally, I’m grounded in love; the only way

to welcome in all that has chosen to play.
